A WEIGHING SCALE LESSON

Early this month, I embarked on a physical exercise routine. The main objective being  to keep fit and shed some weight.Anyone who saw me last in 2021 will tell you I have  gained  several pounds.I have always been a petite girl .Even  after motherhood,    I managed to maintain 52-54 kgs .
Most people  especially  my mum and my siblings marvel at the weight gain, I remember her words , " kweli , ò nyàmà nììùì hàyò" meaning indeed , every flesh knows its place 😆 🤣. I really understand her  bearing in mind this is her baby who was always underweight.Seeing her gain some pounds is a good thing.

On my end , as much as I loved  the  weight gain, you know what I mean , the thùthà has been  thùthàing and those soap dishes would no longer be used. I have had health concerns that I can relate to the weight gain. For example I'd get tired after  walking for a short distance, my feet would  swell and ache every morning  and  instances of hormonal imbalance. So this made me embark on that journey. In my opinion , the exercises have been fruitful, I feel energetic,  the swelling and feet ache stopped  plus I can physically see some changes in my body.
So last evening, seeing off my bestie Nelly , I came across this mtaani weighing scale and  I was like , this is the moment of truth.Let me tell you Maina, I was shocked... was in a state of denial coz what I saw wasn't even close to my expectations...imagine a whole  70kg glaring at me  while I was hoping am playing around 60-62 kgs utmost. The  highest I have ever been in my 3 decades in this planet.Instead of accepting the results, I told the machine owner his weighing scale is tampered with and  even went ahead to narrate how I have been exercising and I can see it and even feel am lighter..I promised to take the test  at a credited hospital and give him a feedback.

True to my word , I went and checked again at one of the hospital  in Bamburi , parted ways with my 100 bob for the service 😀😄 . On  the machine, my 69kgs was there,  smiling at me.I  felt terrible for accusing the roadside scale owner of having a tampered one  and I went back, confirmed my weight is my mine 'siyauelewa' and apologised for the accusation.

Am going to bask in the joy of my  small wins as I work on the weight loss...small wins are wins too.

Moral of the story :
●Don't judge a book by it's cover ,take an indepth look.
●Don't be quick to judge or  accuse someone
●Admit and apologise when you are on the wrong
●Be patient , results take time.
●Keep trying , you'll eventually get it right.
Celebrate the small  wins🏆
